Accessibility The Hague beaches

Choose the fastest and smartest way to travel to the Hague coast. By bike, public transport, scooter or shared scooter you will get to the beach the quickest. If you come by car, use Park + Beach or park in a parking lot.

To Scheveningen

By bike, shared bike, private or shared scooter
You can cycle to the beach via the safe and clearly marked bicycle routes.

Along the Boulevard you will find a number of free and guarded, as well as unguarded parking spaces for your bicycle or scooter.
For shared scooters, there are private parking spaces, found in the providers’ app (felyx, Go Sharing and Check). Among others at the Zwarte Pad, Korte Zeekant and Vissershavenweg. Share bikes can be parked in the free bike racks.

By streetcar

From The Hague HS station, Scheveningen can be reached by:

Streetcar 1 and 9 direction Scheveningen Noord (line 1: Keizerstraat en line 9: Circustheater)
Tram 11 direction Strandweg
Tram 12 direction Markenseplein (Duindorp)

From The Hague CS station and The Hague HS station:

By Bus

From Voorburg station and The Hague Laan van NOI station:

By Car

On busy days it is sometimes difficult to find parking close to the beach. If you come by car, use Park + Beach or park in a parking garage.

If you are disabled and have a disabled parking permit, click here for suitable parking spaces close to the beach.

Park + Beach

With Park + Beach (www.park-beach.nl) you reserve a parking space at 1 the garages of our partners. The parking garages are CS New Babylon, Malieveld and World Forum and are located just outside Scheveningen. The World Forum is only available on June 14.  From there you can quickly and easily continue to Scheveningen by public transport or shared transport.

  • ● Park all day for €6. This includes return ticket streetcar for driver car
  • Each fellow passenger pays €1,- (max. 4 persons)
  • Parking all day including use of Hague City Bike for driver of car is €8,-.
  • ● For the City Bike each fellow passenger pays €2,-.

The Park + Beach package is available from April 1 to July 7 (start of the NL summer vacations) only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. From July 8 to August 27 (end of summer vacations NL): all days of the week.

Park + Bike

With Park + Bike you reserve a parking space at P+B Duindigt and continue your journey to the beach with the Hague City Bike.

  • ● Parking all day including use of Hague City Bike for driver car: €17,-
  • ● For each fellow passenger: €9.5

By motorcycle

On the Strandweg, from the Scheveningse slag between the Adriaan Maasplein and the Strandweg, 2 free parking lanes are reserved for motorcycles.

Beach accessibility for the disabled

The Hague beaches are easily accessible for people with physical disabilities.

Cab and regional taxi
The Hague beaches have a few places where you can be dropped off by (regional) cab. Read more or book AV 070.

Beach wheelchairs
At the bicycle shed on the Strandweg in Scheveningen you can rent (electric) beach wheelchairs for a ride on the beach. Or borrow the ScoutCrawler. In this tracked vehicle you can take your own wheelchair.

Come to The Ocean Race The Hague with the special shuttle boat

This year we again offer the unique opportunity to experience The Ocean Race The Hague from the water. At The Hague Central Station you will board the special shuttle boat from the Paxhaven. The boat leaves every hour to the Haringkade near Scheveningen. From there it is about a 10-minute walk to the beach. That way you’ll be totally in the mood for the race!
